About Chez Joséphine

Chez Josephine is the restaurant located on the grounds of Roaring River Vineyards aptly named after the river that borders its property.

Chez Josephine boasts magnificent views of the river and the historical site that it occupies. The restaurant is located on the foundation of the Brewer Gristmill and has views of the ruins of the sawmill and miller’s cabin dating back to 1793. The dam which was destroyed in the great flood of June 1940 is still visible nearby.

The owners, Thomas and Josephine Silvey, developed the vineyard property into a mountainside attraction that also includes an event venue, lodging, a truffle field, and vineyards. Chez Josephine completes the vision they had for the property and was named after Josephine Silvey who is a native of Alsace-Lorraine, a region of France, known for its blend of French and German culture.  Josephine came to the US as a teenager and has lived here ever since and find this area to resemble the countryside she grew up in.

Chez Josephine will offer a fusion of American and French-German foods not just in their menus but also in the events that will take place in the restaurant and other vineyard events.
